Rachel has an intelligent, imaginative and joyful approach to her teaching, ensuring that a solid technical foundation is established early on. Rachel is influenced heavily by the Suzuki philosophy that places the development of the child’s character at the centre of her teaching. International violinist and pedagogue Nicola Benedetti has described Rachel’s teaching approach as both ‘serious yet filled with joy and fun’.

See Rachel’s blog to follow her teaching adventures and creative teaching ideas.

Rachel has made several series of violin teaching videos to help her students practice at home during the week. With the development of online resources and children’s access to it Rachel believes it is an effective and obvious way to reach as many students as possible. To view some of her videos please see below and subscribe to Rachel’s YouTube channel.

Rachel has also made a series of practice videos for students preparing for the Benedetti Sessions including the one above with Nicky.

Rachel’s work with the Benedetti Foundation has been featured in the April (2020) edition of The Strad and also popular London Magazine ‘Culture Whisper’ (see below) in their ‘Digital Feature’ section (April 2020).
